You can update either way. If you do it on your device, make sure it's either 
chargar or the battery is full. Go to settings, general, softward update and 
follow the instructions. After it downrads and verifies itself, it will reboot 
and you'll lose Voiceover for several minutes.  Voiceover will start with the 
device and then you can unloc k it.
