Hi Jens,
Can you provide copy or the URL to download the geonames dataset you
are trying to load ? A copy of your virtuoso.log file would be
usedful to have in case their are any additional messages reported
that may be related. As stated initially this is an old procedure
Fred used sometime ago for importing geonames data, thus perhaps the
structure has changed since.
Also, if you are still at ISWC and can locate Ivan and Co. again
perhaps they can assist ...

Do you have an idea why this error message appears?
geonames.isql contains the command (using the send procedure):
DB.DBA.import_geonames_dataset('/opt/lvddn/all-geonames-rdf.txt',
'http://geonames.org');
Our Virtuoso version should now be 5.0.9rc6 according to Ivan.
