How can I do it? Hi André,
I'm using the same installation like you. I compiled the VOS Version on an ubuntu 64bit system. Go to your installation directory. There you find a folder called 'bin'. All binarys are placed there, you need the file virtuoso-t. A simple run can be done like this(do all steps in normal terminal): Go to the bin folder and type following: ./virtuoso-t -c ../var/lib/virtuoso/db/virtuoso.ini (this ini file is a example you can use) virtuoso should now start. to check if server is running, try the following command in a shell(terminal): netstat -ntpl if there is a process listening on port 1111 the database server is running port 8890 is the default for the webinterface, you can conntect like this (your browser addressbar: http://localhost:8890) hope this helps. ciao Armin > > Thank you again. > > 2009/1/24 Hugh Williams <hwilli...@openlinksw.com> > Hi André, > > > Can you please confirm what exactly you have downloaded and > installed ? > > > Assuming you are using the open source product and do not > indicate having compiled anything, I presume you are suing the > prebuilt windows binaries we provide ? > > > The error you report typically indicates that the virtuoso > server process is not running on the port specified ie 1111, > thus can you confirm you have started the virtuoso server and > confirmed it is running.
