Well, "missing" implies that it belongs there but isn't there. As
far as I know, there is no reason for it to be there once the build
of Perl itself has completed. However, it appears that "webperl,"
whatever it is, expects to build its own version of Perl by linking
against a non-cleaned-up build directory. If webperl is what I think
it is, i.e., a special version of Perl designed to provide better
performance with the OSU http server, then I suggest you also look at
<http://www.crinoid.com/crinoid.htmlx>.

If you want to prevent my build_perl.com procedure from cleaning up
after itself so you can link other things against it, you can make
the following modification:

$ diff build_perl.com
************
File D0:[CRAIG.KITS.PERLBUILD]BUILD_PERL.COM;2
  168 $!!!$ make_cmd realclean
  169 $ write sys$output "It's hard to believe, but I'm done!"
******
File D0:[CRAIG.KITS.PERLBUILD]BUILD_PERL.COM;1
  168 $ make_cmd realclean
  169 $ write sys$output "It's hard to believe, but I'm done!"
************
