If you still have the build tree for the version that reliably shows it,
what happens if you apply just patch 25297 to it, and recompile:

(I assume that the MMS template is similar to the Unix Makefile and can build
the target "perl", rather than "all", which would save waiting for all the
dynamic extensions to rebuild)

I'm wondering if it was something about the screwy amount of casting as was
in HvARRAY() that was the cause of the problem.
