I had left out the subject line for this submission. Here it goes again:

I was able to configure my linksys to do IP forwarding.

1. I opened my linksys setup program, and forwarded winVNC to
port 5900 to
5900 on the LAN IP I set for my computer.

2. I have installed WinVNC as a service on both the host and
the
client--which are both win 98 machines.

3. On the host machine, I started winVNC on 'listen' mode

4. By right-click on the winVNC icon on the taskbar, I try to
'add a new
client', and enter the 'WAN' IP address--the one my ISP assigns
me through
my Cable-modem connection, which I also verified on the linksys
setup
program 'status' tab--but no connection is made.

Do you have any idea what else I can do?

I have been able to install GotoMyPC software, and remotely
control and see
the settings that I am trying to work out with winVNC.

Cheers,
