Situation: I want to connect via a browser to my home network (TIGHTVNC
SERVER) through a router from my work that has a firewall with a proxy
server. I have gone through GOTOMYVNC.COM and the results came back as such
=================================================
Checking you out at IP address "xx.xxx.xxx.139"...
xx.xxx.xxx.139 is accepting connections on Display 0 (TCP port 5900).

=================================================
I have been able to use the browser to connect to other computers on the
same network at work. I have also done the same at home in terms of
accessing other networked computers at home from home. I have used an
external site used to map the WAN ip to a web address (eg.
JOEBLOW.HOMEIP.NET) I'm trying to achieve only one step at a time. I want to
connect to my home computer via the web browser from another home computer
via the JOEBLOW.HOMEIP.NET method. I was able to get enter the web address
as such, but it only brings me to my router secure configuration screen. I
thought I had to qualify with the appropriate port (eg.
JOEBLOW.HOMEIP.NET:5900 or JOEBLOW.HOMEIP.NET:5800) to get to the computer.
To no avail, the infamous "THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED "from the browser is
shown. I'm assuming that when I do the GOTOMYVNC and get the result as such,
it means I can connect to my computer via the router. Is my syntax incorrect
or am I missing something somewhere?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Dai Ly
