I don't know if resize could be done automatically, but you could always resize your screen manually. But remember two things: when you change resolution, VNC server will cut the connection. So, you have to reconnect again. when you resize, usually you're given 15 seconds to confirm the new resolution is correct. So be quick to connect back to answer YES ;-)
