I have been completely unable to get VNC to work on WinXP 64 bit. Any
help on how you did it (or did you just get it working on Linux)?

Brilliant! That did the trick!
My repository was already set up for 32-bit packages (Firefox and Flash)
so installing vnc-server as 32bit package was easy.

Thanks a lot for that hint!

PS: Why couldn't a RealVNC-official made such statement?
