That's about right.  At present, the HTTP server simply serves raw files,
after attaching the relevant MIME type (it only knows about a few of
these).  I plan to include a very basic SSI feature, so that run-time
parameters can be introduced, and provide proper configuration support in
the main Settings dialogue box.  Both of these points are why I have not
yet included instructions on the website for setting it up.

However, I think you'll find I did put instructions somewhere in the Readme
file included with alpha-5.  They're a little towards the bottom, just
before the text of the GPL.

BTW, the SSI syntax I plan to support will probably be as similar as
practical to the Apache <!--#echo var="name" --> syntax.  This, at the very
least, should ensure that users who wish to deploy the applet via an
existing Web server have a minimum of extra work to do.  I haven't looked
at the AT&T HTML files - do they use this syntax or something different?
