I find it a lot more manageable myself. I'm using Netscape 4.78 mailer - you appear to be using the same. I've got a seperate 'vnc' folder under a 'maillists' folder, and a message filter that catches all mail "to: vnc-list*", and sticks it in there. It's very simple, and makes it a lot easier to manage than digests. > Why not an HTML digest with links to the individual > postings in the archive? I'd argue that a good reason not to do this would be that when replying, most mailers would reply in HTML. And we don't want no steenkin' HTML... > The only reason why > it might be unattractive to some is if people are reading > mail through text-only readers like elm or pine. (Does > anyone still do this on a regular basis??) I'd guess yes, and I'd guess loads, especially here in xplatform VNC-land. Of course, HTML digest could be an *option* (like the digest is at the moment) but because of the above problem (replies will be HTML) I don't think it's a good idea at all. HTML'd email is not a good idea, in my opinion, especially on a mailing list about VNC - mail me if you want my reasons why. -- Illtud Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Uwch Ddadansoddwr Systemau Senior Systems Analyst Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru National Library of Wales Yn siarad drosof fy hun, nid LlGC - Speaking personally, not for NLW --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
