Title: Research Assistant

Salary: about CHF 4000
Job Summary: Lead developer for a VRML-based multi-user virtual library
Duration: 8 month (starting as soon as possible (3/99)
It's possible to convert this full time position into part-time, e.g.
you could work part time on a PhD or MA thesis you started somewhere.

Main Duties: Participation in the design of Virtual Spaces
               VRML (including interactive objects)
               Server configuration / API programming
               database interfacing

Contact: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I will go to VRML '99 in Paderborn (Feb 23-27). In case
you attend, we could meet there !

Important Notes:
    - We plan to work with the Blaxxun server (if budget permits). However
you are also expected to look into other technology (e.g. VNET,
Deep Matrix, Bang, Java3D and others).
    - If you DON'T have all the skills listed above you should still APPLY.
We are aware that we ask for a lot and that we may not find the
ideal candidate for such a low budget position.
    - Switzerland is VERY restrictive on working permits. RA positions are
affiliated with student permits. In other words, this position is
suitable for a SINGLE person. Getting a permit for a partner is
a total headache and the salary is not enough to support a whole
      family.
    - The ideal candidate is somebody with a fresh diploma who
wants to spend some time else-place and work on multi-user virtual
worlds in a dynamic internal team working on educational technology.
You are expected to like team-work and at the same time you should be
      able to work autonomously.
