To all -
ok well I am running a bit behind schedule =)
I am on vacation until June 26th, then I am moving on July 8th into a new
place (hopefully with cable modem finally...) and then I should actually
be OK to begin to do some real work again (well, who am I kidding I'll
start on the 27 when I walk in the door). Anyway, the paper is STILL
available for those that haven't read it yet, at
http://www.rit.edu/~amp5315/grabpaper/thesis3.doc
I will make the SOURCE CODE available for this project as soon as I get
back in a more readable form (I can give you the .class files as well the
catch is I used Oracle for my database package so you will either have to
find an oracle database or re-work it to use access. since it uses JDBC
this may not be too much a problem). I may not have the working demo up
as quickly as I would like (I have the demo all made...problem is that
RITs lab space is torn too bits this summer we are in the midst of getting
a new building so I have no server to put it on. If you would like to
house it you can, I need a Windows server capable of running a program,
with ports 4444,5555,and 6666 free, a DSN labeled CLUE_GAME that points at
either a Microsoft Access97 database or an Oracle database. I will need
to know the name of the machine to re-code the java files (it is
hardcoded, a hack I know but I was in a hurry =). If you want it real
soon, someone volunteer, otherwise it will be up no later than
Septamber...sorry, no-one can give me a definite awnser as to when the
servers we have play-room on will be up again =(
and finally THE BIG NEWS: I am thinking of taking either the chair or
co-chair position of the EAI Working group, and/or a position on the Java
3D
EAI Implementation team. I would like to know how the current members of
the EAI team would feel about this (glad for the help? Want a more
internal chair, someone with more exp that was there for the entire
development cycle? Looking for new blood?). ANyway this is one thing I
AM EXCITED ABOUT, I think on that everyone can agree =). I'm looking for
some feedback from the current EAI (and other WG) members about what they
want in a chair, or a team member, I'd like to be of the most help I can.
Thanks,
-A
