Hi Steve,

We've gotten many of these over the past week. It seems to outrage
users when they think the porn mail is being generated local versus
elsewhere in the world (especially since we are a very small community).

I don't have a solution but share your concern.

Subject: [VOPmail Beta] Question on redirection

I had an interesting email on Saturday.
I got a porn site Spam type email. In the from address was a
@midwaynet.net email address, the pop part of the address was not a
valid email address on my server. I ran emailtrackerpro and found that
this email really came from a hotmail account.

From: IP address 24.247.167.7, host name
'24.247.167.7.bay.mi.chartermi.net'.
Location: United States - For a detailed geographic trace, run
VisualRoute. Received Headers: Attempted misdirection: 'hotmail.com' is
not 24.247.167.7

I guess I'm wondering how this was done. And if I could stop this.
