I got an Email from one of my customers who was having problems with an SMTP Server being slow to respond (when you telnetted to port 25, the mail server would take upwards of 2 minutes to show the SMTP banner). This is the reason why: ---------------- Santa Ana winds in California took out connectivity for osirusoft's rbl servers, and they're still unreachable today. Remove them, or everything will either "time out" and be very slow or it will reject all mail temporarily until the rbl works again. I ended up disconnecting from osirusoft's rbl service that blocks spams, and mapped to different ones which work, and the speed is now back o normal.
