I talked to Andrew at Vircom today about the Caller ID and ODBC interface. Andrew said that he would submit this
request to the radius developer and see when there might be time to get it into a release.
I would suggest that if you are interested in the feature that you email Andrew stating that you too would benefit from the feature and would like to see it as soon as possible in a radius release.

MIke,
Do you have script to pull the data out of a SQL database and put it in an Access db? We have tried and got close but no cigar as our SQl skills are very limited. Thanks.

- I see, that's an idea but I hate to spend the money since it almost never happens and we already have a backup routine but right now it requires a manual switchover to an access db dsn. It used to move automagically but the latest versions of Modus have broken their fallback routine. Modus will fallback but it will only work using the same type of db and since our fallback is an access db the mail authentication has quit working if SQL stops. I can either wait for Vircom to fix their bug or change our routine from putting the data into an access db and have it start putting it into a sql db.

- Mike,
- I have clustered SQL server. If one server fails the other server takes over with in .5 seconds.
- If both fail.... Well I am in trouble.
- I do have a MySQL server at the production site and could set it up to be a back up for authentication but instead I use the text file method for the backup.
