Trick question. All of the energy used by the electric drive could be accounted for from the frame of the car by observing frictional losses, wind movement, heat emissions, etc. It would not be easy to calculate, but the information should be there.

When a electric car drives down the road, where does the expended energy show up in the reference frame of the car? Regards, Robin van Spaandonk http://rvanspaa.freehostia.com/project.html
