This is a false equivalence. It depends on the format in which the energy is produced. An explosion projects energy in expanding particles. The SunCell projects energy as photons in the EUV energy range.
A technology can be developed and is currently in development that converts photon energy directly into electron flow by downshifting the EUV to longer wavelength EMF and generating current from that converted EMF.
