At that pressure the MFP ~= 0.2 mm. Maybe the separation distance between Pd cladding and Ni? In short, it may allow D atoms to migrate from the Pd to the Ni without recombining to molecules. Regards, Robin van Spaandonk local asymmetry = temporary success
