No, I had such a tiny current from the "Shuman" frequency, that I wasn't sure
if it wasn't a measurement artifact. I used electrolytic capacitors on account
of the extremely low frequency because I didn't want make a huge coil. Given
the leaky nature of that type of capacitor, it would be hard to be sure of the
results. I tried to figure out some sort of phase-lock loop on account of the
variations in "Shuman", but that's way out of my wheelhouse. I'll bet William
Beaty could figure it out.
I just thought that while I was at it, I could "steal" some 60hz grid juice.
Using an open solenoid, you can fine tune the frequency by moving an iron rod
in and out. It worked pretty well.
