One "point" is that lots of people lurking in this thread find it 
fascinating, even if Jed just finds it annoying.

Jed, as always, sounds persuasive, and I, for one, am not convinced that 
this was anything other than what it appeared to be at first glance. 
None the less the evidence that something more was going on is extremely 
interesting ... and maybe, maybe even convincing; I haven't decided yet...
