Sorry to rake this up again, but I've got a couple questions about
this, and in the past, Vortex has provided the clearest, most cogent,
and most diverse comments on 9/11 I've seen anywhere. (Maybe I should
broaden my reading, eh?) :-)

Background: I'm firmly in Jed's camp on this. But last night, after
being asked to shut up about it or at least watch what the other side
has to say, I watched the second half of "Loose Change". After
seeing that and reading Jones's paper (posted by Jed) I'm left with
three nagging questions, and I'd be very interested in comments on
these issues from the list.

And ... sincere apologies if these particular issues have already been
raked over here!

-- Steve Jones, in the paper Jed uploaded, found large numbers of
spherical iron particles in the dust sample he looked at, and
says, plausibly, that this indicates there was an aerosol of
molten steel blown out of the building.

In the "official explanation", there was little or no molten
    steel.

So where'd Jones' iron spheres come come from? Opinions?

-- I've repeatedly read reference to "molten steel" found in the
basement of the WTC (level 6 below ground, IIRC) /five/ /weeks/
after the collapse. Now, *regardless* of how the buildings fell,
I don't see how that could be -- the stuff would surely have
cooled enough to solidify by that time, even if the whole basement
had been filled with Thermite. In fact I'd expect it to cool
enough to solidify in just a few days, forget weeks. From this I
    would conclude either

        (a) the reports are bogus
        (b) there was some energy source keeping it molten
        (c) it was melted "fresh" a month after the collapse (how??)

Anybody got any thoughts on this one?

-- And one major conspiracy item, not physics. Loose Change says
firefighters on floor 78 in the south tower found only small
fires. My favorite conspiracy site, WhatReallyHappened, says
eyewitness evidence from survivors indicates there were no totally
massive fires on any of the floors from 78 to 84 in the South
    Tower -- see:

Comments? Is WhatReallyHappened all wet on this?

[ Finally, I said I'm firmly in Jed's camp on this; that may not be
apparent from the above questions. I wrote up my impressions after
watching Loose Change, and they're pretty negative! I won't burden
the list with it, but in case anyone has time to waste and cares
what I think of it, I uploaded them to
