Well, I respect Terry's judgment, but if it were not for that I would pay no attention. There have been countless magnetic motor claims and they all seem to come to nothing. If this were true, I suppose it would be easier to replicate than cold fusion, or even some new type of internal combustion engine. Anyway, I hope this is true, for two reasons: 1. It would work better in many practical applications than cold fusion would. (But not all. I think CF would be better for implanted pacemaker batteries, for example.) 2. It would knock the stuffing out of established physics even more than cold fusion would. I am always pleased to see the stuffing knocked out of the establishment -- any establishment. I enjoyed seeing Obama's political victory for that reason. It is not that I oppose establishments on principle. I think they resemble rugs: they are useful, but you should take them outside from time to time, hang them on the clothesline, and beat them with a broom handle to get the dust out. - Jed
