WRT new gravity theories: there has been some mention
here in the past by Terry and Horace of one of the
most eccentric and brilliant minds of the past
century- Burkhard Heim.

He is called the "German Hawking" (Stephen Hawking)
but is not as well known - yet- IMHO he is more
perceptive and certainly more creative; sometimes
being creative is counter-productive in advancing
theories, but if his work eventually proves out, he
will be elevated to the level of Dirac and Einstein.
Of course, one must overlook a few 'quirks', but that
has been true of many great thinkers.

Anyway, at the age of 19 Heim was recruited by the
Nazis to the air force, which led to his working in a
explosives laboratory. An accident there left him
without hands, deaf and blind. Yet he persevered; and
without the need to be "reinterpreted" by other PhDs,
as has Hawking for instance.

He had been a most precocious child. In school, he
taught himself thousands of Chinese characters, with
which to write secret messages. He could learn a new
language in a matter of days.

Anyway - here is the Wiki entry on Heim theory:

It looks to me like Volfson may have borrowed
extensively from this, and that may be why his theory
has some validity.
