You can, but it is reportedly not as good for this one application as a Kindle.

Does anyone know how the iPhone compares for this? It does have a built in
ebook reader. The screen is fabulous, and it does so much more that the net
effect of it all - in the words of some nameless Ad-exec is "priceless" -
almost a paradigm shift in office productivity - but why buy two similar
handhelds if the iPhone can do the book task almost as well?

... and the "real" iPhone price, of course, is not fooling anyone. Yes you can
pick one up for $199 -- but the ATT contract is steep. It is kinda-like the
computer printers these days, where they practically give away the nice printer
but then rob you with the high priced ink. Lesson there: get a laser printer
instead.

Many associates of mine have had iPhones for months, and lived through all the
growing pains - but I am holding out for the T Mobile version of a copy-cat -
not the Goggle Android (1st gen) but a more capable version that promises about
half of the ATT monthly charge and a real "chicklet keyboard". Old fingers and
old eyes have a helluva time with those on-screen keyboards.

How long before total voice control via "bluetooth" headset ? ... IMHO that
could be the real paradigm shift in making the mobile office the universal
standard.
