So true. In another life, I was a product engineer for a small
company. Each week we attended design review meetings to review the
engineers' progress.

At some point, we had to decide to "shoot the engineers". This was
the time we froze changes to the product and prepared for production
with our contract manufacturer. Assembled product would then arrive
on our docks and we would implement "rework" for the "fixes" the
engineers had "discovered" in the time since we "shot" them.
