Come to think about it, if I were interested in a far away world inhabited by a
species that shoots first I would send a soul less, robotic semi creature to
take the risks. The question that arises is why not send a robot that is
totally mechanical and that does not require special life support? Perhaps
they are so advanced that their propulsion systems and life support systems can
be trivially implemented. Who knows what we will be capable of in a million
years?

This is not to suggest that I believe in extraterrestrials. I am merely
speculating about how they might behave.

Why build robots if you can just grow them?

There are some who might believe that extraterrestrials have already realized
such an advantage in the case of"Grey Aliens" !
