Thanks Alan for the URL to Yeong's slides. That really helped clarify in
my mind what is happening in this device. A number of people have
mentioned how impressive the Defkalion live demonstration was, and yet
how amateurish it appears. It really wasn't an amateur presentation, far
from it. I was absolutely floored at how quick an responsive the device
was. It was the home-made look of the device and the lack of a systems
level diagram or overview (or blackboard) where you could match up an
abstract concept of the device and then see that component live in action.
That way, you could reference the system level diagram and point the the
active reactor and say, we believe the reaction proceeds this way, and
refer to Kim's slide presentation.

What really blows my mind about this demo, is if that had been anything
else but cold fusion, this would have been in every science blog and every
physics discussion on the internet. Where is the major media at? Did I
miss something?

I know Defkalion was showing off the new National Instrument data
acquisition tools and that all looked very good. I deal with NI software
all the time so it was great to see. The Kim slides show the future
quantification of the nuclear processes by incorporation of a mass spec
system (being designed Fasmatech no less! fasmatech, com).
This is precisely what is necessary to really nail down what is happening
in this system. It's impossible to know what is happening in the reactor
until there are clear and reliable measurements. I think the next reactor
R-6 incorporating the Mass Spec, should lay to rest once and for all the
NiH fusion processes. That will be a discovery so profound it could
reshape mankind.
