Why bother compiling it? Apt-get install samba is faster... The only bad think is that samba needs RW in some folders and you should make them RW. Its /var/lib/samba, /var/cache/samba and file /etc/samba/smbpasswd. I dont know the best way to do it on voyage 0.6.5, but on Voyage 0.6 i add folders to voyage-sync script at /etc/init.d....
