[voyager] Re: PNG support

Now that UniSys is again applying pressure to stop us using GIFs, PNG is
getting more important.

Does anyone know exactly what features of the PNG image format are
supported by Voyager?

Looking at the very small test images at

http://www.cdrom.com/pub/png

it doesn't appear that alpha channels (one of the big advantages of PNG)
or gamma correction are supported. But I may be wrong as I am using an
8-bit screen.

Any definite information?
