I have always been amazed at so many peoples bad mouthing of MUI.
I have used it for years, and have put it in the system and taken
it out, and cannot say that I have more buggering up of the
system with or without it.
My system gives me problems in either case. :))
I have no doubt that there are lots of programs that do not like
MUI, but I use IBrowse 2.1, and used 1.2 for a LONG time, since
it first came out, really. I almost NEVER get crashes with
IBrowse, but AWeb just won't work on my system, and the latest
Voyager, the version 5, simply will crash when it tries to load
in any graphics.
I have run IBrowse 2.1 since September, and I have had a total
of two lockups or crashes. ...and I use it every day. It uses MUI,
so I cannot say MUI gives me a problem.
I seem to get problems with my drives, and that has really
gone up in frequency since I installed OS3.5. I find that
upgrade the worst thing I have had in my system in years. The
graphics suck big time on my 8 colour ECS system. : ))
I have the Magic Workbench system in, and it looks fine.
I also have NewIcons... the original, and those icons look
rad on my system. I have taken to changing the icons that came
with the OS3.5 disk with the older versions using the new
IconEdit... slow as hell, but it makes my screen look a lot
better. Maybe it is MUI causing problems, but I really don't
know... or think so.

AWeb may not crash on YOUR system, but I have never been
able to get it to look right. My buttons are so screwed up
that I cannot tell what they are! I don't know which button
does what. : (((
On MY system, IBrowse is the browser of choice. None of them
will read this one site that I have been trying to get to.
Give it a shot with your "working" browser, and let me know
what you get. I get some strange messages indeed from ...
