Find a background picture. Then it will no longer leave a grey screen.

You are not alone. I happens here a lot. Just re-start Voyager and quit it
again -- this normally makes Voyager close the screen too, though others
have reported that it makes Voyager crash the Amiga, but I haven't
experienced that.
