Some HTTP sites/servers don't give the total size, AFAIK.  Or perhaps that's
only with dynamically built HTML?

Keep watching it - if V3 doesn't know the size, it seems to use a fixed size
for gauge calculations then add to that if it goes over.  When the bar reaches
the end, it jumps back 1/8th and continues...
