Hi Everyone,

First, I want to thank all of you who tried answering my question
with your fine suggestions, but, it did not really answer the heart of
the matter and put a "red herring" in the mix.

Heres is the situation. When I use V or AWeb, I do not have any
special thing going on at the same time, with the exception of having
AEMail periodically inquire of the POP server for additional E-Mail. I
also have ALL of my files from AEMail and from AWeb and V go to my re-
movable drive (Bernoulli 230).

One observation seems to hold true, though. It appears that most of
the time these crashes occur when V is trying to do a final display of a
Web page it has just downloaded and decoded. What I was asking is why
is it that when there is a crash, that crash also can take out the disk
drive by causing invalidation> It seems strange for such a thing to so
consistently happen with V.

Now, the discussion about using a different filesystem to avoid/pre-
vent the invalidation of a harddisk drive, though, a smart move, is NOT
solving the problem (A "red herring" is a term used to describe ways to
misdirect one's attention from what is truly important.). This solution
is like saying, "Since your headlamps are broken, only drive during the
brightest times of the day." Yes, this does solve the problem of not
seeing things in front of you at night, but, simply repairing or re-
placing the headlamps of you car is the real cure. The same applies to
a change in a filesystem being a cure for V's crashing the way it does.

Again, does anyone have any ideas why V should crash this way and
then cause trouble with the diskdrives, whereas AWeb does not do this?
I have them setup in the same way.

                                         Julian.
