In this case, the word "preference" means just that. It's up to you to
reach a compromise between how much data V stores in the hope that page
loading can be sped up, and how much HDD space you have to spare. Although
I would imagine that at the extremes of a large cache, you might end up
spending more time searching for the data to load from the drive than just
downloading it again. If I had a very fast connection like cable/xDSL, I
might keep the cache small, as the data will come quickly from the server as
well as the cache, so little point in keeping a large cache.
