The  problem  with  those  kinds  of  programs  (and  of the Guru system in
general) is that they don't always report accurately the offending program.
For  sure,  program X may have actually crashed the machine, but for all we
know program Y created the problem in the first place.

So  while  these  tools  are undoubtedly useful they can't always be relied
upon to reveal the truth.
