Re the problem below, this may or may not help. Once you have imported
MiamiInit, make sure you SAVE as default BEFORE dialling, not afterwards.
The reason, I believe, is that once you have connected, lots of info goes
into Miami which is true only for that one connection. If you save that, it
won't necessarily work next time. (I'm convinced I had problems because of
this in the early days before I sussed out what was happening.)

Subject: [voyager] OT: Miami fails to connect
Hello,
I apologize if this OT offends anyone. I asked on the Miami list
but no one could help. So I thought as a last resort I would try
here.
I had a USR modem working on my spare system. I moved it
to my main one and put an old SupraFax V.32bis in its place.
I deleted the miami.default file and ran MiamiInit. Everything
went fine. I started up Miami and loaded the init file and went
online without a problem. But after the computer is turned
off and back on, when I start Miami I get a message stating
"PPP warning. Link appears to be looped backed..." This
message appears as soon as the resetting modem requester pops
up. It hasn't even attempted to dial yet. I have found that if I
run MiamiInit again to the point where it resets the modem
and then run Miami I can connect again. Does anyone have
any idea why this is doing this or how I can try to troubleshoot it?
Jack
