Check the date/time stamp on your hard drive (select the icon and then do an
info on it from the icons menu in Workbench). I suspect you'll find the drive
has this date on it as the creation date. IIRC correctly, if your clock goes a
bit iffy (like after a crash) then it sometimes gets set to the creation date
on your drive
