With most character sets, using UTF-8 instead isn't a big deal. When you start with cyrillics and stuff where not many of the characters are "Latin" alphabet, you're going to get screwed. It would be possible, for now, to convert the relevant UTF-8 codepoints to Latin equivalents, but I dare say most fonts don't even contain them in the Amiga standard ISO-8859-1 set. Even that would require a lot of hassle though. Voyager has provisions for supporting Unicode but it's not hooked in for AmigaOS due to the fact that AmigaOS has absolutely no support :) > Please excuse me if this has been asked before but I cannot check on old > posts at the moment because I have to use expensive "dial up connection" > for the next few weeks. It's on the cards, but don't expect it until far, far down the line, I would say. -- Matt Sealey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
