Hi Excel,

Could you collect the following outputs, replacing the placeholders with your
device and port?

mst status -v
mget_temp -d <mst-device> -v
mlxlink -d <mst-device> -p <port> -m

Best regards,

Jerome

Objet : Re: [vpp-dev] DPDK TX-Failure on CQSFP2 During Low Traffic

Hi Benoit and Jerome,

I would like to provide an update based on the latest observation from the
client side.

The device had been running for several days without any TX-drop/TX-Failure.
However, the issue appeared again after one of the AC units in the server room
was turned off.

The device was then rebooted, but the TX-drop issue was still present after the
reboot. After that, a portable AC unit was installed and placed in front of the
rack. Interestingly, after the additional cooling was provided, the TX-drop
stopped occurring and the counter has not increased again so far.

Based on this observation, we are wondering whether the ambient temperature or
thermal condition around the rack/NIC could be a contributing factor. However,
we understand that this is only a correlation at this point and cannot yet be
considered the root cause.

We will continue monitoring the device and will also collect the information
you recommended earlier:

  * VPP: show version, show dpdk version, show hard, show int, and show err
  * Host: dmesg, ethtool -S <netdev>, and devlink health show pci/<BDF>
reporter tx
  *   NIC/link: mlxlink -d <mst-device> -p <port> -c

Do you think the behavior described above could be related to a thermal
condition of the ConnectX-5 NIC, PCIe subsystem, or another hardware component?

Are there any specific temperature or thermal-related parameters that you would
recommend checking on the NIC or host?

Thank you for your continued help.

Best regards,
Excel
