Hoi,

A while ago we discussed a crash in IPv6 neighbor solicit if the link-local address is missing (or deconfigured) on an interface.
The fix for this is https://gerrit.fd.io/r/c/vpp/+/46038

Pieter Meyer posted a minimal repro (see commit message in the Gerrit), and confirmed the crash no longer appears after the patch (PS5 is the narrow fix for the issue itself). Can the gerrit be merged? And also put into the upcoming release ?

    ip6-nd: fix crash in link-local target NS

    Fix NS for link-local target crash (fib_index=~0) when interface
    link-local FIB is absent, ip6_ll_fib_get() result used without ~0 check,
    unlike the global-FIB path a few lines further in this file.

    Reproduction, crashes master, does not crash with this change:
    1. On a pg interface with a global address "disable ip6 interface pg0".
    2. Inject a single unicast NS (src fe80::2, dst = the global address,
       target fe80::1, hop limit 255).
    (repro courtesy Pieter Meyer)

groet,
Pim
