I'm having a grand time using vTcl, and right away I want to thank Rick
for providing such a remarkable tool for such a remarkable price. So,
thanks !

Now to the questions:

  1. I have a series of entry boxes, some of which are for wavefile
filenames, and a button to activate vplay. I'd like vplay to play the
soundfile in the highlighted entry box, i.e., the box with the active
cursor, but I don't know how to go about doing that. Is there some sort
of getCursorSelection function in tcl ?

  2. I'd like to clear all entries with a button-press. Again, is there
already a usable function in tcl, or can someone provide an example ?

  3. These must be obviously notorious beginner questions, and I'm
considering purchasing a book on tcl/tk. I've seen some books that look
promising, but I'd like some opinions before plopping down the US$40-50
for something and finding out that it's either 'way over my head or too
little to work with. These are the books I've seen available at
Thackeray's in Toledo OH USA:

    Dr. Ousterhout's book;
    a book by Eric Johnson, I think it's called "Graphic tk
Programming";
    a new book from O'Reilly Press, I think it's "Tcl/tl Power Tools";
    and another one but I can't recall the title at all.

  Of course I'm interested in any other suggestions.

  4. How do I integrate the TiX stuff into vTcl ? I tried installing TiX
this morning but it stalls when it doesn't find a file named pkgIndex. I
realize that this is probably not the list to ask, but since I'm here...
;)

I'm running vTcl under Linux kernel 2.0.27 on a 486/120 with 32 megs
RAM, in case anyone needs to know. Any and all help will be vastly
appreciated !
