Hi, friends-- A quick reminder to all VTJP friends: *Today* is the first of the six public forums that VTJP is sponsoring in conjunction with the exhibition "Made in Palestine," the first collection of contemporary Palestinian art to tour the U.S. The exhibition comes to Montpelier--after opening in Houston and then San Francisco--thanks to a generous contribution from the Lintilhac Foundation and the support of the Station Museum in Houston, Texas.
Today's event will be followed in quick succession by a Friday evening reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibit and a Saturday afternoon talk by one of the artists represented in the exhibition. Details follow below. (1) Thursday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m., "Perceptions of Palestine and U.S. Foreign Policy and Palestine" by Kathleen and Bill Christison, former CIA political analysts. (2) Friday, October 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., the gala Opening Reception for the exhibition. EVERYONE IS INVITED!! (3) Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 p.m., artist and activist Samia Halaby will speak on the topic "Where the Soul Takes Flight: Art and Resistance" All events are free and open to the public and take place at the T. W. Wood Gallery, College Hall, Vermont College of the Union Institute & University, 36 College Street, Montpelier, VT. Gallery hours are noon to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
