Reminder: Dr. Sara Roy of Harvard University speaks tonight at 7:00 at the T.W. Wood Gallery in Montpelier as part of our VTJP Public Forums in conjunction with the "Made in Palestine" Art Exhibit. Dr. Roy, the child of Holocaust survivors, is an expert on the Israeli- Palestinian issues.

MacArthur Foundation grant at Harvard University's Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Roy, who holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard's Department of Administration, Planning and Social Policy, is studying the Islamic movement in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, focusing on the social and economic components of the movement and their relationship to Islamic political and military institutions. A frequent consultant for the United Nations and the United States Agency for International Development, Roy also assists private development and human rights organizations. Currently, she is a consultant for Interaction in Washington, D.C., studying the current crisis in Israel/West Bank/Gaza Strip and the potential implications for foreign aid to the area. Roy, who has taught at Northeastern University, has been a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Georgetown University and Harvard University. She has presented more than 90 professional papers and published more than 40 articles in refereed journals on Palestinian issues.
