I just went through the process on a clean eclipse and didn't seem to have any issues connecting to the update site. It may have been a temporary outage of the Eclipse download servers. Let me know if it still doesn't work for you.

Then I copied the http://download.eclipse.org/technology/vtp/helios site into the “work with”box and then hit “add”. Another box appeared with the title “Add repository”. It wanted the name and location filled in. I tried several options and could never get it to work. It just locked up my eclipse session. Then I tried using the “available SoftwareSites” option. I was able to add the new site, but it still would not connect. Any ideas? I tried the site that was mentioned in the forum, http://download.eclipse.org/technology/vtp/helios/ but I cannot access it. Is there another method I could use to install the software? I was able to download VTP-3.0_12008630.zip, which contains the jar files, but there is no install software. Can I simply copy the jar files to the eclipse/plugins or do I need to create a directory (maybe org.eclipse.vtp) in the plugins directory?
