Hi Mellisa,

Does the edge router have a route for networks 172.16.16.0/24 and
172.16.17.0/24 pointing to the Vyatta router at 192.168.1.2 or
192.168.100.1 (I'm not clear which is or if both are assigned to eth0)?

Also, what is the address of the Vyatta eth0? Is it 192.168.1.2 or
192.168.100.1?

This looks a bit strange:

192.168.100.0/24 [connected(0)] > to 192.168.1.2 via eth0

Thank you,

Robyn
