Sorry, my bad. Tried to type SPACE then LEFT_PARENTHESIS and not
'FULLWIDTH LEFT PARENTHESIS' (U+FF08) like in your "test.docx".
Thank you for making this crystal clear in your video.
We'll of course fix this bug in the next release of XMLmind Word To XML.

I'm not sure what made you believe the bookmark was illegal.
It's just a string of U+FF08, U+0046, U+006F, U+006F and U+FF09.
U+FF08 and U+FF09 are not of whitespace; they are pretty normal Japanese
non-space characters which are used by so many people so often.
The test file was created on Microsoft Word 2013 using its pristine UI by hand.
If you don't believe it, please let me know and I'll make a step-by-step
tutorial video, from installing Windows 10 to clicking buttons and inputting a
character by character on Word, to show you how to create the same bookmark
with plain UI.

Here is a short version of the tutorial video, taken on fresh Windows 10 + Word
2013. So fresh that it's even not connected to network. (And that's why Word is
not activated yet.)

The tutorial was made in a way that doesn't require you to type non ASCII
characters.
If you still accuse me of my (groundless) habit of crafting malformed DOCX
files when in fact I always spend extra time to provide the reduced
straightforward repro files, I'll create a more detailed tutorial. Let me know
what you don't get.
My sincere apologies. My intent was just to understand what I saw in
your "test.docx" and certainly not to make accusations or to upset you
in any way.
