We weren't fishing at the Narrows. I had fished the Narrows through the 4th
of July holidays when Brian Lencho and I hooked and landed a good number of
blackmouth which I reported here. I went back on 7/15 when I returned from
the Henry's Fork and it was dead south of the bridge where they had been
stacked. Rick Bell and I fished north to Pt. Evans on the outgoing tide
last thursday with no results. I didn't see any bait. We couldn't stay for
the turn, but a couple buzz-bombers were bee-lining it past us as we were
walking back to the bridge. They were heading straight to Evans. All of
which means that I wish I could have fished into the flood at Evans.
I've got a beach I'm going to hit tomorrow morning. I'll post a report if I
hook up. I caught a steelie this morning on the way to work - it'll be
tough to pass that spot without stopping.
