Steve; I just built my first rod. IT was a 896 sp from sage. It was all easy until
the final moment of actually applying the epoxy. I guess that was where the smoke
turned to fire. My ways are below.
I found it very easy. I always thought it would be extremely hard. The Jig I didn't
use. I just got a paperback book sat it in front of me with a milk bottle filled
about 1/4th full and the the thread through the paperback. This provided the right
tension for rapping. Start the wrap down on table. Once the thread holds I would
raise it up to eye level and was able to wrap right in front of my eyes to make sure
it was done right.
