Jeff Albert and I fished the Yak in the canyon on Friday last week. The
water was 38 deg. and the air was between 30 and 50 it felt like, depending
on whether or not the sun was behind a cloud.
We did not see a trout all day. I did manage to catch 3 whitefish! We fished
at Mile marker 18. Saw small midges only, lots of caddis on the rocks. Very
few stone nymphs, nothing on the shore that I could see. Water was as low as
I have ever seen it. Could wade across the river in many places.
